Storm Attenuation Pumping Stations
Due to variation and intensity of rainfall and the amount of building work that has taken place over the last two decades the management of surface water runoff and the prevention of flooding forms an integral part of any new build development within the UK. Attenuation of storm water by the means of storage and pumping is one method that can be employed on Sustainable Urban Drainage Schemes (SUDS).
With this in mind, EnSo have developed a range of Storm Attenuation Pump Stations designed to store high volumes of water from foul, surface or combined drainage and allow a controlled pump rate into the main sewer or designated discharge point. EnSo offer a full design service, where the attenuation tank is sized based on the ‘worst case’ storm event, as well as the capability of the drainage infrastructure and the receiving sewer. Pumping systems often require pumps to be operated on timers to allow for water to be discharge overnight to prevent surcharges in to the sewer, ultrasonic level control to control the flow rate and telemetry to alert any mechanical failure. All this can be provided within the attenuation tank design.
